EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse) events can cause electronics failures. These can be natural from the sun or man made from devices such as orbit exploded nuclear bombs. (our real-time sun images will be down for a short time - our talking cats are working on the super special solar spotting web cam. Either that or I need more beer.)
